I am a gynaecologist, fertility specialist and obstetrician (public only). I have special interest in advanced laparoscopic and gynaecological surgery. I am also a colposcopist and enjoy managing abnormal pap smears. I have additional accreditation to perform this procedure.
I have been working as an O&G for over 15 years, both overseas and in Australia. I have been admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) and I have also completed a Masters Degree in Reproductive Medicine from the University of New South Wales.
I consult from my private rooms at 61 Honeysuckle Street, Bendigo. Surgeries are performed predominantly out of St John of God Hospital and Bendigo Day Surgery. I am associated with Monash IVF and provide complete fertility care including IVF procedures at Bendigo Day Surgery, Bendigo and Epworth Private Hospital, Hawthorn. I also hold public appointments at Bendigo Health and Castlemaine Health.
I am open-minded and renowned for my excellent rapport with patients. I am knowledgeable, honest, caring, warm and friendly. I believe in using the most advanced, evidence based, effective and least invasive treatment options available when managing my patients.
I started my career in obstetrics and gynaecology (O&G) in Nepal in the year 2000.
I moved to Australia in the year 2007. In Australia I started out as a registrar, working at the Women’s and Children’s (WCH) tertiary hospital in Adelaide. Here most of my training involved the management of high-risk pregnancies, quite different from my experience in Nepal.
I was now preventing complications, rather than just treating them!
After 5 years of training in Adelaide, my family decided to move the sunny town of Bendigo.
I finished my training at Bendigo Health in 2015 and decided to set up my own practice here in Bendigo.
I enjoy looking after women with fertility issues and performing minimally invasive (key hole) surgery is my passion. Since receiving further training in both these areas, I have never looked back!
I love the vibrant city of Bendigo and the community has made me feel so very welcome. Bendigo has since become my home.
My objective in private practice is to provide personalised care of the highest standards to women from all walks of life. I aim to provide evidence-based sound clinical advice that empowers women to make informed decision about their treatment.
I regularly teach and mentor medical students and trainee obstetricians and gynaecologists. I also frequently participate in patient information webinars.
I enjoy attending conferences and workshops for new updates. I regularly participate in audits and update policy and procedures as quality control and clinical outcomes are important to me.
As a busy clinician and parent to my two gorgeous boys, I understand the difficulties of attending appointments and undergoing treatment whilst managing work and life. I endeavour to provide a care plan that is centred to my patients lifestyle whenever possible.
